Missive pricing in 2026: plans, per-user prices and what each tier includes

Missive has three plans. Starter is $14 per user per month billed yearly ($18 monthly) and caps at five users. Productive is $24 yearly ($30 monthly) and caps at 50. Business is $36 yearly ($45 monthly) with no cap. There is no free plan. Every new team gets a 30-day trial of Productive. Verified on missiveapp.com, October 2026.

This is a plain explainer of what each tier includes, where the bill grows beyond the seat price, and what a team of five or fifteen pays. The numbers come from Missive's pricing page and its billing documentation. We build Sektra, a shared inbox in the same category, and the last section says where it differs.

Short answer

Five users on Missive Productive pay $120 a month on yearly billing, or $150 month to month. Fifteen users pay $360 or $450. The AI assistant is on Productive and Business only, metered through prepaid Missive AI credits or your own provider key, outside the seat price. Shared accounts beyond five per user are $15 a month per five.

What does each Missive plan include?

Starter

Starter covers the inbox itself. Email, SMS and social accounts connect, with team inboxes, personal inboxes, aliases, labels, snooze and send later. Collaboration features such as internal threads, assignment, collaborative drafting and team chat are on the plan. The cap is five users, so it is the small-team entry and nothing more.

What Starter leaves out is the workflow layer. Missive's feature table lists rules, at up to 1,000, on Productive and Business only, and its billing documentation lists the AI assistant as not included on Starter. Integrations with external tools, analytics and API access also sit on the higher tiers.

Productive

Productive is the tier the trial runs on. It adds integrations with external tools, with HubSpot, ClickUp and Dialpad named on the page. It also adds rules and automations up to 1,000 rules, basic analytics and reporting, API and MCP access, and the AI assistant. The cap rises to 50 users.

Business

Business removes the user cap and adds the security and reporting items larger organizations ask for. Those are SAML single sign-on with Okta or Azure AD, IP restrictions, advanced analytics and reporting, and personalized onboarding sessions. The feature set is otherwise Productive's.

Is there a Missive free plan?

No. Missive's billing documentation states that Missive has no free plan. Every first organization gets a 30-day trial of Productive with no credit card. The trial is limited to 25 users, 10 shared accounts, two personal accounts per user and 30 days of history. It follows the person who created it, so a second organization does not start a second trial.

When the trial ends, access pauses until the owner picks a plan in Settings, then Billing. Nothing is charged automatically. Canceling a paid plan keeps access to the end of the billing cycle, after which content stays available in read-only mode.

How is AI billed in Missive?

The AI assistant, prompts and AI rules are on Productive and Business. Usage is not part of the seat price. Missive offers two ways to pay for it, and they can run side by side.

  • Missive AI credits. A prepaid balance bought in Settings, then AI, then Buy AI credits. It is one balance across OpenAI, Anthropic and Google models. Admins get an email when it runs low. At $0 the AI features stop for every user until an admin tops up, and top-ups are manual with no auto-recharge.
  • Bring your own key (BYOK). Connect your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Google account and the provider bills you directly on its own usage dashboard.

The pricing page does not publish a price per credit or a monthly allowance per seat. For budgeting, the AI line is a usage bill set by how much the team drafts, summarizes and runs AI rules. It sits beside the subscription as a separate line.

What does a team of five or fifteen pay for Missive?

A team of five that wants rules, integrations or the AI assistant lands on Productive at $1,440 a year. A team of fifteen starts there, because Starter stops at five seats. On yearly plans, a removed user is billed to the end of the period, with the seat reassignable to a new hire.

Where do Missive costs rise?

  • Shared accounts. Each plan includes five shared accounts per user, so ten users can connect 50. Beyond that, Missive's documentation prices additional shared accounts at $15 a month per five.
  • AI usage. Credits or provider bills grow with drafts, summaries and AI rules, and there is no allowance in the plan price.
  • SMS and WhatsApp. SMS runs through Twilio, Quo or Dialpad, and WhatsApp through its own connection, so carrier and per-message charges come from those providers while Missive bills the seat.
  • Tier jumps. Rules, integrations, analytics and AI are the step from $14 to $24. SSO and IP restrictions are the step to $36.
  • Seat timing. Yearly plans bill removed users until the period ends.
  • Tax. Missive collects US sales tax in New York, Ohio and Maryland, and exempt organizations can have it removed.

History is one place the bill does not rise. All three paid plans include unlimited email and chat history. Only the trial is limited to 30 days.

Where Sektra differs

Sektra is an AI shared inbox that remembers what your team promised. It is a separate workspace that syncs two-way with Gmail, Outlook and IMAP and connects a WhatsApp Business number through your provider. Three things sit in the plan price that the Missive bill meters or leaves out.

  • AI drafts and assistant questions are included in every plan through a monthly allowance of credits, the unit that counts assistant requests. There is no add-on to buy and no provider key to manage.
  • The memory layer, Sektra's per-client record of commitments, open questions and people, is built from the mail and WhatsApp history already in the inbox. Missive keeps assignments and notes. It keeps no record of what was promised or who owes the next reply.
  • WhatsApp Business is a channel with the same ownership, notes and memory as email, with the 24-hour window and templates handled in the composer.

The side-by-side is on Sektra vs Missive, the feature reference on /product, and plans on /pricing. Agencies and account management teams are where the memory earns its place, because the same clients write every week and nothing ever closes.
