How to set up watches and reminders

Ask the assistant for a reminder, a follow-up that cancels when they reply, a watch on a quiet client or an alert on a tag, then manage them in Settings.

A reminder pings you at a time. A watch is a standing instruction that tells you when something happens. It can fire when a client has gone quiet for the number of days you set, a reply arrives or a promise comes due. It can also fire when a tag is applied or a new conversation comes in from a sender. Both are set up by asking the assistant and managed under Settings, Rules and watches.

  1. Open the assistant

Press Cmd+K and use the Assistant tab, or open a thread and use the Assistant tab in Lens so the request is about that conversation.

  2. Ask for a reminder

Say remind me about this on Monday at 9. The assistant restates the time in your zone and the thread, and asks whether to also snooze the thread until then. Yes hides the thread and brings it back exactly when the reminder fires.

  3. Ask for a follow-up that cancels itself

Say follow up in 3 days unless they reply. If the other side writes first, the reminder clears itself silently. If not, it reaches you through the bell, and by push or email if your notification settings say so.

  4. Ask for a watch on a relationship

Say tell me if Acme goes quiet for 10 days, let me know when Priya replies, or watch the quote I promised for Friday. Name the number of days for a silence watch; if you do not, Sektra uses a default of at least seven. Pause, extend or stop it by asking.

  5. Ask for an alert on the inbox

Say tell me when a conversation is tagged Urgent, when something is assigned to me, when I am mentioned, or when a new conversation arrives from acme.com in Support. These fire on changes made inside Sektra and on new mail arriving.

  6. Review what fired

Alerts land in Action items with an explanation of why. Each offers Draft follow-up, Remind me later or Stop watching. The bell carries the same event once.

  7. Manage them

Settings, then Rules and watches, lists every watch, alert, scheduled action, scheduled review and job, grouped by inbox. Remove what you no longer need. Watches on a shared inbox are visible to every member of it.

Scheduled reviews

Two reviews can repeat on a schedule: a relationship review and a commitment review, delivered to your action items. They are deterministic and use no credits, which is why they are the only work that can run on a schedule.

Scheduled actions

Say archive this on Friday or assign this to Priya tomorrow morning. The action runs at that time through the same path as a click, so it shows in the activity log and syncs to the mailbox. If the permission it needs has gone, it stops and tells you in the bell.

Does a watch cost credits?

No. Watches, reminders, alerts and scheduled actions are deterministic. The assistant turn that sets one up costs one credit; the watch itself runs free.

Does Sektra learn how often a client usually writes?

No. A silence watch uses the day count you give it. The daily digest's Waiting on them list uses a fixed rule: the other side owes the reply and has been quiet for three days or more.
