Quarterly business review template and QBR agenda
A QBR is a 45-minute review of last quarter's results, what was promised and what happens next. This template gives you the agenda, the eight sections and the pre-read checklist, free to copy or download.
How to use the template
- Copy or download. Copy the template or download the Markdown file, then paste it into the document your client already sees: a shared doc, a slide deck or an email.
- Send the pre-read. Send the pre-read a week before the call. Fill the results and commitments sections from last quarter's threads, not from memory.
- Run the agenda. Run the 45-minute agenda in order. Keep the last ten minutes for next quarter's commitments and write each one down with an owner and a date.
- Follow through. Send the summary within a day of the call and track every commitment until it is kept.
What is a quarterly business review?
A quarterly business review (QBR) is a scheduled meeting between a supplier or agency and a client, held once a quarter. It looks back at the results and the promises of the last ninety days and agrees the goals for the next ninety. The account manager or customer success manager owns it, and the client's decision maker attends.
QBR meaning, in one line: the quarterly meeting where both sides check whether the relationship is delivering what was agreed.
What a QBR agenda should include
- A short recap of last quarter's goals, so everyone judges the results against the same targets.
- Results with numbers and their baseline, and what drove them.
- The commitments both sides made, each marked kept, late or still open.
- Risks, open questions and what the client needs from you.
- Next quarter's goals and commitments, each with an owner and a date.
Forty-five minutes covers all five when the pre-read goes out a week early. The QBR guide walks through each block. Running a client QBR from your inbox shows where the commitments section comes from.
QBR template, account plan and customer success plan
The QBR is the quarterly meeting. The account plan is your internal view of the account between meetings. The customer success plan is the shared document that states what the client wants and how both sides will measure it. The QBR reads from both.

What is a quarterly business review template?
A document with the fixed structure of a QBR: agenda, results against goals, commitments kept and missed, risks and next quarter's goals. The structure stays the same every quarter so the client can compare one review with the last.
What should a QBR agenda include?
Five blocks. Open with a recap of last quarter's goals, results with numbers, and the commitments both sides made and whether they were kept. Then cover risks and open questions, and next quarter's goals with owners and dates.
How long should a QBR be?
Forty-five minutes is enough when the pre-read goes out a week early. Longer meetings fill with status updates that belong in email.
What does QBR mean?
QBR stands for quarterly business review, a meeting held once a quarter between a supplier and a client to review results and agree on the next quarter.
Is this QBR template free?
Yes. Copy it, download it as Markdown or a CSV agenda, or print it. No email address is asked for.
Who should attend a QBR?
The account owner and the client's decision maker at minimum. Add whoever owns the results being discussed on either side, and keep the room small enough that everyone speaks.
