Connect Gmail in a few minutes

Nothing migrates and nobody re-enters a password every day. Four steps, then the team works from Sektra while the mailbox stays where it is.

Pick the mailbox
Choose Gmail under Add inbox, name the inbox, and decide whether the whole team shares it or it belongs to one seat.

Sign in with Google
Google asks you to approve Sektra for that mailbox. Sektra never sees your Google password, and you can remove access from your Google account at any time.

Choose what syncs
Decide whether a thread read by one teammate counts as read for everyone, switch on label, star, archive and trash sync, and choose whether earlier mail is imported.

Mail starts flowing
New mail shows up in Sektra within seconds of reaching Gmail. Teammates who are not on Sektra yet keep working in Gmail, and nothing moves.

01 Sync

Gmail and Sektra always agree

Google tells Sektra the moment something changes, so a label, a star or a reply made in either place shows up in the other within seconds. Your mail never leaves Gmail, and nothing changes for the people who write to you.

Labels are tags. A Gmail label becomes a Sektra tag, and a tag added in Sektra becomes a label in Gmail. Nested labels keep their structure.

Read state, your way. Decide when you connect whether a thread read by one teammate is read for everyone, or whether each person keeps their own unread count.

Archive, trash, stars and spam. Each one moves both ways when its switch is on. Sektra never deletes anything, and delete means Trash.

Gmail's tabs, kept. Promotions, Social, Forums and Updates stay out of the way, so the inbox stays about people.

02 Day one

The history is read on day one

When a mailbox connects, Sektra reads its newest 50,000 emails in the background and builds the record of each client from them. Spam, trash and drafts are skipped, and the import sends nobody a notification.

The last week first. The newest seven days are sorted at once, so the inbox is in order before the rest of the import finishes.

Memory within the hour. Commitments, open questions and people are lifted out thread by thread, and Lens fills in while the import runs.

Everything searchable. Search covers every imported message on every plan. The memory layer covers the window your plan includes.

03 Sending

Replies go out from the mailbox, written in Sektra

Write in Sektra and the message leaves from the mailbox address with a copy in Sent. The person on the other end sees a normal email from you.

Undo send. Every send waits ten seconds by default, up to a minute, so a wrong recipient is caught before it leaves.

Attachments up to 20 MB. Files up to 20 MB per message, large ones included.

Signatures and templates. A signature per person and per inbox, and shared reply templates with an optional subject.

Replies stay in the thread. The reply lands in the same conversation for everyone, in Gmail and in Sektra.

Google sign-in

Mail access is granted on Google's own approval screen. Sektra never sees your Google password, and you can remove access from your Google account at any time.

Never used for training

Your mail trains no AI model, ours or anyone else's. Sektra follows Google's rules for apps that read Gmail, including the Limited Use requirements.

Encrypted end to end

Encrypted on the way to Sektra and while stored, on servers in the United States.

Delete means delete

Disconnect an inbox and it stops syncing. Delete the workspace and everything in it, including the memory layer, is gone within 30 days.

What is a Gmail shared inbox?

A Gmail shared inbox is one Gmail or Google Workspace mailbox that a team works together, with an owner per thread, internal notes and a view of who owes the next reply. Sektra adds that layer on top of the mailbox and keeps the mailbox itself where it is.

Do we have to move our mail?

No. Mail stays in Gmail. Sektra syncs with it both ways, and anyone who is not on Sektra keeps working in Gmail unaffected.

What does Sektra ask Google for?

Permission to read, label and send mail in the mailbox you connect, granted on Google's approval screen and used only to run the inbox. Sektra follows Google's rules for apps that read Gmail, including the Limited Use requirements.

Can teammates keep their own unread count?

Yes. When a shared inbox connects you choose between one read state for everyone and a separate one per teammate. Gmail always mirrors what happens in the mailbox, whichever mode you pick.

Can we connect a Google Group or alias?

Connect the mailbox that receives the group's mail, or the alias's underlying account. Sektra treats it as a shared inbox with per-teammate access.

How fast does new mail show up?

Within seconds. Google tells Sektra the moment a message arrives, and a reply written in Sektra appears in Gmail's Sent folder as soon as it goes out.
