Live chat that lands in the same inbox as your email
Add a short snippet to your website and it gets a chat widget in your colors. Every chat is a conversation in your shared inbox, with an owner, notes, tags and the same memory as email. When the visitor leaves, the conversation carries on by email or WhatsApp from the same thread.
Connect the chat widget in a few minutes
Nothing migrates and nobody re-enters a password every day. Four steps, then the team works from Sektra while the mailbox stays where it is.
- 1
Create the widget
Under Settings, choose Chat widget and create one. It comes with its own shared inbox that does not count against your mailbox limit.
- 2
Make it yours
Set the title, color, position, greeting and the button label. Add a logo, your office hours with the usual reply time, and an away message for when nobody is online.
- 3
Add it to your site
Copy the short snippet Sektra gives you and add it to your website, or hand it to whoever runs the site. List the websites it may run on, so a copy on another site does nothing.

Chats start arriving
A visitor's first message opens a conversation in the chat inbox. Teammates see it in real time, and the assistant drafts a reply if you want it to.
A chat is a conversation in your inbox, not a separate tool
Chats sit beside email and WhatsApp with the same owners, notes, tags, rules and service levels. The visitor talks to your team in the widget while your team works in the inbox it already uses.
A bot can answer first, and hand over when it should
Turn on the bot and it answers from your help center and public knowledge, with every answer tied to a source. A Talk to a person button is always there, and the bot hands over on its own when the visitor asks, sounds upset, or it has no answer.
One conversation across chat, email and WhatsApp
When the visitor closes the tab, nothing is lost. The thread stays in the chat inbox, and the next reply travels by the channel the visitor gave you, from your own mailbox or number.
Allowed websites
The widget runs only on the websites you list. A copy of the snippet on another site does nothing.
Signed-in customers, verified
Your site can tell Sektra who is chatting in a way nobody can fake, so a logged-in customer sees only their own conversations.
Bot protection and limits
New chats per visitor are limited and a bot check runs on the first message, so the inbox stays about people.
Files checked
Attachments are capped at 20 MB and limited to safe file types.
Questions, answered
Permissions, sync and what stays in the chat widget. If your question is not here, ask us.
How do I add live chat to my website?
Create a chat widget in Sektra, set its look and hours, then add the short snippet it gives you to your website. List the websites it may run on and it is live. Whoever runs your site can do it in a few minutes.
Where do chats go?
Into a chat inbox beside your email and WhatsApp inboxes. Each chat is a conversation with an owner, notes, tags and history, and the same rules and service levels apply.
What happens when the visitor leaves?
The conversation stays open in your inbox. If the visitor gave an email or a WhatsApp number, your next reply goes there from your own mailbox or number, and their answer comes back into the same chat.
Can a bot answer first?
Yes. Turn on the bot and it answers from your help center and public knowledge with sources attached. It hands over to a person when the visitor asks, when it has no answer, or when the visitor sounds upset, and a Talk to a person button is always there.
Can logged-in customers be recognized?
Yes. Your site can tell Sektra who is chatting in a way nobody can fake. The chat then shows the customer's name and email, and only they can see their past conversations.
Does a chat inbox count against my plan's inboxes?
No. A chat widget comes with its own inbox and does not count against the shared mailbox limit.
Connect the chat widget and see it work
Connect in minutes, with nothing to migrate. Sektra reads the history, and the team walks in briefed from day one.
